I also thought about booking a writing desk but I was too late and the times I could do were all booked up! Which is good! So I hope they will continue to offer it as a space ! Are you much of a coffee shop writer ? I've found Yalm to be a really nice place to get my head down for a few hours !
Yeah, we don't get there as much as we used. I kinda broke the habit when I started working for the theatre, and haven't segued back yet.
They have now opened up the booking at the NCW for October, so I think it is ongoing, they just don't do it that far in advance. Which makes sense in terms of people knowing what they're doing, and stopping people booking up far ahead, forgetting, then not turning up or releasing the desks..
I've never done the coffee shop thing. I always think I'll feel too obliged to get a new drink every fifteen minutes to justify using the space. To be honest, I get on fine at home - it was more an experiment to see what I was like in another space. I was productive, but not necessarily more so than if I'd been at home. Though maybe it was just that bit more devoid of distraction.
Yeah that's makes sense ... I've started doing planning and outlines out in the world and still save the deep work for home 🏡 I need to control the environment far more to really hit my groove !
