I’m a writer based in Thorpe Hamlet, England.
My most recent novel is the psychological sci-fi thriller Parallels, out now from Deixis Press. It will be followed this September by It’s Hard to Tell You This, a novella of regret.
My first book, the novella Playtime’s Over (Propolis, 2021), was a reflective meditation on mental health, loss and isolation, as seen through the eyes of Will in the moments before his death. Guided by the avatar of his unconscious, Viktor, Will is forced to confront the truth about the feelings and thought processes that have brought him to where he is, and the significance of what he’s throwing away.
My second book, the fantasy western Greyskin (Deixis Press, 2023) is an interwoven tapestry of frontier adventure and settlers’ tales that blends action and drama with themes around colonialism and race. It was described by the Daily Mail1 as “Bleak tales, beautifully told.”
I also have a self-published series of pulp sci-fi adventures, under the name Ray Adams. The latest of these, From Within, A Darkness, is a standalone haunted-asteroid tale described by The Fantasy Hive as “energetic and engaging” and “a cocktail of classic science fiction tropes.”
As well as updates on my current projects, events and news, I offer thoughts on my writing process, as well as recommendations of stuff I’ve been reading/watching/playing/enjoying.
Relaxed, maybe informative, hopefully fun. If you would like to have that land in your inbox, just click the button.
Parallels (Deixis Press), Greyskin (Deixis Press) and Playtime’s Over (Propolis) are all available direct from their respective publishers, as well as from all the usual places, online and off. You can also support my work by buying Ray Adams’ self-published books, or by simply buying me a coffee.
I know, I know, but their literary section is, I’m told, well-regarded…
